About the Journal
The Journal of Peace and Conflict Research (JPCR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Copperbelt University through the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Research and Innovation. JPCR provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and postgraduate students to share original scholarship in the fields of peace, conflict, and security studies.
The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, case studies, and policy analyses. Its scope spans peace studies and peacebuilding; conflict analysis, transformation, and resolution; security and human security; governance, democracy, and the rule of law; human rights, justice, and reconciliation; development and resource-related conflicts; gender and peace; and regional integration and international relations, among other related fields. Drawing on the expertise of the Dag Hammarskjöld Institute for Peace Studies and partner units of the Copperbelt University, JPCR encourages scholarship that bridges rigorous analysis with the practical challenges of building and sustaining peace.
All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic integrity, analytical rigour, and scholarly relevance. JPCR is committed to open science: every article is freely available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, authors retain copyright of their work, and there are no submission or publication charges.
By disseminating high-quality, regionally grounded and globally relevant research, JPCR aims to inform policy and practice, strengthen institutions, and contribute to peace, stability, and sustainable development in Zambia, the region, and beyond.
