Aims & Scope

The Journal of Business, Economics, Law and Social Sciences (JBELS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Copperbelt University. It publishes original research articles, reviews, case studies, and policy analyses that advance knowledge across the business, economic, legal, and social sciences.

The journal welcomes submissions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Business studies, management, and marketing
  • Economics and development studies
  • Law, policy, and governance
  • Public administration and public policy
  • Gender studies and applied ethics
  • Humanities, music, and the creative arts
  • Peace and conflict studies
  • Other fields within the social sciences

JBELS draws on the expertise of the School of Business, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Dag Hammarskjöld Institute for Peace Studies, and the Directorate of Distance Education and Open Learning of the Copperbelt University, and aims to promote scholarship that responds to the social and economic needs of Zambia and the wider region.
