Author Rights & Self-Archiving

Authors publishing in JBELS retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

Under this licence, authors are free to:

  • deposit the published version of their article in institutional or subject repositories;
  • post the article on personal or departmental websites and scholarly networking platforms;
  • reuse the work in teaching, theses and subsequent publications, provided the original publication in JBELS is properly cited.

There are no embargo periods. Authors are encouraged to self-archive the version of record, always citing the original article and its DOI.
