Publication Ethics

MBJ is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in publishing – authors, editors, reviewers and the publisher – are expected to adhere to these standards.

Authors must ensure that their work is original and unpublished, free of plagiarism and data fabrication, that all sources and contributors are properly acknowledged, and that any conflicts of interest and sources of funding are disclosed.

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual merit, ensure fair and confidential peer review, and act decisively when ethical concerns arise.

Reviewers provide objective, confidential and timely assessments and disclose any competing interests.

Allegations of misconduct – including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, redundant publication and authorship disputes – are investigated in accordance with COPE flowcharts and may result in correction, retraction or notification of the authors' institution.
